Mr. Chater obtained his law degree from Seton Hall University School of Law in May of 2004, where he graduated cum laude. During law school, he served as a legal intern in the University’s Center for Social Justice representing indigent clients in the Newark area, where he received an award for Outstanding Performance in a Civil Litigation Clinic. In May of 2001, he graduated summa cum laude from Monmouth University in West Long Branch, New Jersey, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Finance. While attending Monmouth University, Mr. Chater was a member of the Beta Gamma Sigma and Lambda Sigma Tau honor societies. He also received the University’s Excellence in Finance Award for his academic success in the field of finance. Mr. Chater initially began his affiliation with the Firm as a law clerk in 2003 during his second and third years in law school. Following law school, he served as a Judicial Law Clerk to the Honorable Lawrence M. Lawson, Assignment Judge of the New Jersey Superior Court, Monmouth County. During his clerkship, Mr. Chater handled a variety of litigation matters including condemnation proceedings, land use appeals, actions in lieu of prerogative writs, and emergent applications seeking temporary and preliminary restraints. As part of his clerkship, he also served as a mediator in the Small Claims Division of the Special Civil Part.
